Highlights and Touchdowns: Auburn Tigers Georgia Bulldogs in NCAAF | 10/08/ – VAVEL USA

The Bulldogs put together an play yard touchdown drive that ended with Daijun Edwards’ 1-yard score, his second touchdown of the game. Georgia leads Auburn with to play in the third quarter. Stetson Bennett fumbled deep in Bulldogs territory on Georgia’s third play of the second half. The defense held the Tigers to a field goal.

Georgia leads Georgia had a chance to add more points with the ball at its own 46 and to go. Stetson Bennett couldn’t complete a single pass on three attempts and Georgia punted. Bennett went 7 of 13 for 25 yards in the first half. Daijun Edwards 1-yard touchdown run over the right side of the offensive line gives Georgia a lead with to go in the second quarter. The Bulldogs have rushing yards and 23 passing yards so far.

The Bulldogs are averaging 7. Georgia running back Kendall Milton is out with a right groin injury, according to Georgia radio reporter D.

It sounds like he’s not expected to return. Kenny McIntosh’s 1-yard touchdown run on the left side puts Georgia up with to go in the first half. The Bulldogs have showed more punch running the ball. Georgia has 80 rushing yards on 11 attempts led by Daijun Edwards with 45 on 5 rushes.

Georgia picked up great field position when an Auburn fake punt was snuffed out by Nolan Smith who tackled John Samuel Shenker who tried to run with the ball. That gave Georgia the ball at the Auburn 36 late in the first quarter in a scoreless game. Stetson Bennett is a bit off target on some of his throws early.

He’s 4 of 6 for 10 yards. Auburn hasn’t gotten much going offensively as the Bulldogs have put pressure on Robby Ashford and snuffed out the Tigers ground game. Georgia recruited him out of powerhouse Hoover High in Alabama. He signed with Oregon where Georgia wide receivers coach Bryan McClendon saw up close what type of athlete he is, working out with the receivers and running backs in conditioning.

Dooley was supposed to make an appearance at the UGA Bookstore today as he often does before home football games. The Redcoat band played “Happy Birthday” to Dooley to mark his 90th birthday at the Oregon game in Atlanta early last month. Mike Bobo, the former Georgia offensive coordinator, is greeting Auburn staffers who he worked with last season before Tigers coach Bryan Harsin cut him loose.

Bobo chatted up good friend Will Friend on the field and has been talking with a few others here pregame on the Tigers side. Edwards rushed for 83 yards and three touchdowns while Kenny McIntosh and Bennett contributed rushing touchdowns of their own. The ground game continues to get the job done for GeorgiaFootball.

Auburn’s defense did a good job of taking Brock Bowers out of play, and Georgia didn’t have other answers. Ladd McConkey led the team with five catches for 47 yards, but, with all due respect to McConkey, he’s not the guy who should be your leading receiver — not when you’re trying to win a national title. McConkey is more of a complementary piece than a focal point. Of course, some of this falls on Bennett, who has struggled to push the ball downfield.

Bennett had the yard touchdown run to put this game out of reach but finished with only yards passing on 32 pass attempts. Of his yards, came after the catch. Looked like Auburn would have a first down and then Ashford is not a strong passing quarterback yet. He’s far more of a threat with his legs, which makes it vital for the Auburn offense to stay on schedule. That was easier said than done against Georgia in this game. Auburn managed only yards of offense and averaged a paltry 4.

More importantly, it couldn’t keep drives going, converting only five of their 17 third downs. In defense, it’s hard to convert third downs when you need an average of 8. Teams with running quarterbacks aren’t going to convert a lot of third-and-8s. Ashford threw a short pass to Jarquez Hunter in the fourth quarter, and Hunter dodged a couple of tacklers and took off for a yard touchdown. Considering it cut the lead to , it wasn’t the most impactful play, but there was one aspect of it that stood out.

Ashford became the first Auburn QB to throw a touchdown pass at Sanford Stadium since Chris Todd threw a yard touchdown to Terrell Zachery in the first quarter of Auburn’s loss to Georgia in It’d been a while! Jarquez Hunter showed off some awesome moves on this AuburnFootball touchdown. Harsin entered the season on the hot seat, and his firing has always felt inevitable. With Auburn blowing a lead to LSU last week and getting blown out by rival Georgia this week, now seems like a good time.

Immediately after scoring a yard touchdown for AuburnFootball , Jarquez Hunter was on the field for kickoff coverage. And he was the first player down to the other end of the field. Branson Robinson scores from 15 yards out, giving the Dawgs their sixth rushing touchdown of the afternoon.

It’s Georgia with left to play. Needless to say, it’s been a much better performance from Georgia today than we’ve seen the last couple of weeks. Branson Robinson takes it in for his first career TD! GoDawgs pic. How’d he score a touchdown out of this??? Robby Ashford just became the first Auburn quarterback to record a touchdown pass in Sanford Stadium since Chris Todd in Is it going to change the outcome?

Am I happy Auburn got a TD just to give it something to be happy about? Robby Ashford hits Jarquez Hunter on a short pass, he makes a move, dodges a defender and takes off 62 yards down the sideline for a touchdown. It’s Georgia, and if you bet Auburn on the spread, that’s the biggest touchdown of the day so far.

Edwards scores his third rushing touchdown of the day to finish a 6-play, yard drive and it’s a Georgia lead with left to play.

We’ll probably see the Georgia second string here soon. It picked up zero yards in three plays and punted. OK, so maybe you believe that. Hell, maybe you expected it. Anyway, if you were entertaining the idea that this was another one of those games featuring a team from Georgia that ends with an incredible comeback, maybe find something else to do with the rest of your evening.

It ain’t happening here. Stetson Bennett just went 64 yards up the gut for a touchdown run. The middle of the field parted like the Red Sea for Moses and he was gone. It’s the longest run of his career and it’s GEorgia.

The best thing to happen to Auburn that possession is Malaki Starks’ interception being ruled incomplete on review.

Recap, Twitter reacts to Georgia’s dominant win over Auburn.

Georgia wins , Stetson Bennett says in the postgame interview “we’ve gotta get our moxie back a bit. Retrieved November 23, The Bulldogs are averaging 7.
