The QuickBooks database manager wants to know what company files you have, and it sets up a file with an ND file type for each shared file.
The database manager utility has a feature for detecting company files and creating the ND file. Sometimes, though, the ND file can become damaged, or can be erased. Go to Intuit. Once you download, save the installation package file on your computer and click on setup. If there is an older version installed, that can cause further issues. Resultantly, your whole diagnostic effort can go in vain. Once you are sure there is no previous installation, click on the setup file.
Follow the instructions on the screen and wait for the installation to complete. Once the installation finishes, wait for the tool to start automatically. When the tool opens, select your company file from the list of company files available for diagnosis. The scan time depends on your file size. In most cases, it can take up to 5 minutes. Once the scan finishes, open QuickBooks and your company file.
The scan may say it was unsuccessful even if it fixes your issue. This is optional. Select Repair the file for your existing version of QuickBooks first. These options can fix common errors like ,0, unrecoverable errors, and Reload.
After you fix your company file, back it up. See create a backup of your company file. Check for any software updates. Run updates regularly and verify and rebuild data to help get ahead of errors.
