Yet another issue with Windows 10! Here is what I have tried so far:. Scroll down the list to see. PDF entry. If the default app is not listed in this window, then you can select a different program located in your PC. I don’t see my Adobe Acrobat Standard X listed to be able to select from. When you invoke this step, what you’re looking at is the contents of the Program Files folder. What you want, though is the Program Files x86 folder, which you can reach by clicking on the “up” arrow shown below. Therein you will find the Adobe folder, and in that you can find Acrobat.<\/p>\n

BTW, you can streamline the process a bit by avoiding the Control Panel applet. Right-click on a PDF file and choose “Open with” and go from there. Was this reply helpful? Yes No.<\/p>\n

I followed your steps and unfortunately it does not change the default to open with Acrobat Standard X; it still opens it in reader.<\/p>\n

I can right click on each individual pdf and make it open with Acrobat Standard X but that is very time consuming and not what I used to have to do. Any other suggestions please? A pop-up will appear that will let you choose an app from the list.<\/p>\n
