Missouri is hosting Florida for MU’s final home game of the season. It’s also senior day for the Tigers. Follow along with this story for live updates on Missouri’s final home game of the season against Florida. The updates at the top of this story are the most recent.

More: Missouri football’s Tyler Badie focused on finishing strong — not the lack of national buzz. Tigers go for two, Daniel Parker Jr. Badie took the handoff and went off the left end to score.

That has MU trailing by one, and Drinkwitz called timeout. Trent Whittemore took a reversed pitch and threw to Emory Jones, the quarterback, for a touchdown. The Gators lead , and MU gets the ball now. It’s the second overtime game on the season for MU, the first being the loss at Boston College earlier this year. A pass interference call gives Missouri a first down at the Florida 30 yard line. It’s in Mevis’ range. The Tigers have punted back to Florida, and now Eli Drinkwitz is asking his defense for one more clutch stop.

The offense sputtered, as Bazelak threw an incompletion to Dove when Dove wasn’t looking for the ball. Now, the Tigers’ defense has a chance to dictate the game. A stop is needed, a turnover is wanted but a score might end the game. After that touchdown drive, the Tigers’ defense finally slowed down Florida.

But, not before the Gators tied the game. A yard field goal has the game knotted at with left to go in the game. Seems like we’re heading for a great finish as well. Missouri had fourth and two, but gave up a chunk play for a first down. Florida also called timeout, leaving the Gators with one for the rest of the game. A fake screen and a pass to Niko Hea on the wheel route went for 41 yards and a touchdown as the Tigers pulled ahead in the fourth quarter.

The Tigers offense has stalled but the defense has been balling. Badie is starting to click, however. That might open some play-action plays, but that would be tough to argue with Bazelak’s and the pass protection’s struggles. As much grief the MU defense earned at the start of the season, the Tigers have earned their praise now.

Aside from the earlier touchdown, Missouri’s defense has read Florida’s offense well and forced a third down stop and got the ball back. Chad Bailey, who earned a starting spot earlier this year, balled out on third and long to blow up a screen play.

Now, the Tigers’ offense needs to come up with anything. Approaching the halfway point of the third quarter, the Tigers have gotten a stop on third down and forced a punt but still trial Missouri needs to make something happen on offense if it wants a chance to win at some point in the third quarter. Or else, the defense will be tired very soon. The first Missouri drive of the half was a three and out, and Florida just needed three plays to take a lead.

Dameon Pierce was the first player to pierce the goal-line today, giving the Gators a lead early on the in the second half. Missouri held off a long play at halftime to hold on to a slim lead. MU has 30 minutes, and it can clinch bowl eligibility. If this game comes down to a battle of kickers, Mevis is winning this game almost single handedly.

Missouri got two great catches from Tauskie Dove and Keke Chism to set up that field goal, however the Tigers’ offensive line is struggling so far. They’ve allowed three UF sacks which have stalled drives. There he is again. Mevis hit a yard field goal to tie the game at with just under seven minutes left in the half. Bazelak hit Niko Hea for a yard gain.

That brought MU into UF territory. That’s also one of the most explosive plays we’ve seen all day, as the Tigers have 59 yards of total offense. After that helmet bounce, Florida stalled on first and goal. That led to the third field goal of the game. The MU defense has held tough, but Florida has shot itself in the foot on two pre-snap penalties. After Missouri forced a punt, the Tigers went three and out on their next offensive drive.

That led to one of the silliest plays this season. McKinniss’ punt flew near midfield, and bounced off a Florida helmet. That made it a live ball, and MU could have corralled it for a fresh set of downs. Instead, it rolled out of bounds and gives UF the ball at the MU Tough break there for the Tigers. The McKinniss punt paid off. Florida punted from inside its own 10, and shanked the punt.

It went 11 yards. Missouri stalled on its drive, but Harrison Mevis drilled a yard field goal to stay the most consistent part of MU’s offense. That tied the game at The Gators are facing a fourth and nine to start the second quarter, with some kind of kick most likely coming up. MU’s answer to Florida’s first field goal of the game stalled near field.

Bazelak was sacked on third down as he couldn’t find an open receiver on the play. Bazelak did throw perhaps one of his best passes all season. He hit D’ionte Smith for a yard gain on third and 12, where Smith had one-on-one coverage.

Grant McKinniss, however, did pin Florida at the Gators’ two-yard line with a phenomenal punt. Florida was methodically moving the ball to start this game, but Jones bobbled a handoff on third and three which led to a fumble.

MU will field the ball first. Emory Jones is at quarterback for Florida, and has take two pops on the first two plays of the game on a read-option play. That ends a week’s worth of speculation of which quarterback won the week’s competition: Bazelak or Brady Cook. How short Bazelak’s leash is this Saturday, after getting benched following an interception in the fourth quarter against South Carolina, remains to be seen.

FINAL: Florida 24, Missouri 17 – Florida Gators.

Self-inflicted mistakes are killing Missouri, again. With fourth and two in MU territory, Anthony Richardson takes an opening and sprints to the Tigers’ five-yard line. On the next play, Florida takes the lead. It’s Florida, and the pressure is now on Missouri’s offense to tie the game. The MU offense can’t afford to stall, or make mistakes, with the Gators’ offense clearly making adjustments. The first drive of the second half goes into MU territory, but the defense holds to force a yard field goal.

UF’s kicker misses, and the scores stays knotted at Credit Missouri for getting back into the game after being down Harrison Mevis tied the game with a yard field goal. After Cook’s pick-six, Florida had all the momentum. Missouri has stalled that momentum with two sustained drives on offense and a turnover. A sustained drive gets Missouri into the end zone. Cody Schrader scores from the four to cut the Gators’ lead to This is after a botched snap ended in a throwaway, which saved 15 yards of field position, and Nate Peat got the Tigers down to the red zone.

Two defensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: Florida comes into the game boasting the 21st fewest passing touchdowns allowed in the nation at five. But Mizzou is even better: they enter the contest with only four passing touchdowns allowed, good for 14th best in the nation. We’ll see if that edge gives Mizzou a route to victory. Final from Gainesville. GoGators WellsFargo pic. Peat on the yard run for the score. Slick Rick in the back of the endzone!! Final 15 on deck!

Gators back on top!! Florida 17 Missouri 10 2Q pic. Steppin’ up and settin’ up. GVOaant converts on 4th and 2. All squared up at the break. A yard field goal by Adam Mihalek in the first quarter and Hill’s yard pick-six had Florida up 10 early in the second quarter, but the Gators were unable to muster anything on offense and missed a pair of long field goals in finishing with just 66 yards on 18 first-half plays.

With Florida flailing, the Tigers were able to erase the deficit and tie the game at the break on a 5-yard scoring run from Cody Schrader and yard field goal by Harrison Mevis 20 seconds before halftime. An yard UF drive ended with Johnson’s 3-yard score at the mark of the third and after Hill intercepted Mizzou’s Brady Cook 22 of 30, yards, 0 TD, 2 INT inside the UF 5, the Gators responded with a nine-play, yard drive capped by Richardson’s on-the-move dart to Pearsall in the back of the end zone.
